I let the puzzle supply run down for two reasons: first, I did not think we would be here for long and second, our suppliers did not seem to have any new ones. It just seemed to be the same old ones, and I was tired of them.
With another Christmas coming I had to order, and although I started with trepidation, I ended up being excited and probably ordered too many puzzles. There are lots of new ones that fall outside of the usual realm of landscapes or collections of stuff.
These are my three favourites. Note the lack of vast expanses of blue sky or green trees, I hate doing those.
And for all those real puzzlers in your life (or someone you want to torture) we have this 5,000 piece puzzle. I thought the picture would be challenging and only when it arrived did I realize there were that many pieces. It is 5′ x 3.5′ – you need a ping pong table to do it on!
There are also more puzzles on order, so the supply will be increasing.
See you at Scoop N’ Weigh, the Candy Store for Grownups and if you can’t eat, you can do puzzles!
P.S. Jelly Belly has created some new flavours and we were able to order them. There is S’mores, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Peanut Butter and Jelly. Consensus by the Kid is Lemon Meringue Pie tastes like strong lemon, Peanut Butter and Jelly is eh and S’mores is the best. Tammy says Lemon Meringue Pie tastes like lemon meringue pie, Peanut Butter and Jelly is eh and S’mores is too sweet. Me, I just stick to chocolate pecans.
We did not get the other new flavour of Chocolate Chip Mint, but it is on order.
P.P.S. Be forewarned, as of October 1, 2019 we are going to start charging for plastic bags – $0.05. I have almost run through my supply of printed single use t-shirt plastic bags and with all the environmental concerns, I really do not want to order new ones.
When you are in the store you will notice we always ask if you need a bag, this is to make people conscience of their bag use. For years I have brought and used my own bags; I hope I have made a small dent in the environment.
P.P.P.S. I am gloating a bit today. Remember my rant about tea bags that didn’t compost? Today on BBC news, there was an article about how nylon/plastic tea bags put millions of microplastic bits in the environment, worse yet, they are in that cup of tea. Egh!
I was ahead of the curve on this problem. Wrong reason for thinking it is a problem, but still I will take credit for alerting you! 🙂
P.P.P.P.S. In my search to find new homes for stuff, I found this.
Grands ‘n’ More is a Winnipeg organization that raises money to send to Africa to assist grandmothers raising their grandchildren. Every year Grands ‘n’ More gathers art and sells it at their sale. This year the sale is September 29.
Moving from a large house to a small one I had less wall space and consequently pictures that did not have a place to hang. I gave them to Grands ‘n’ More – out of my house and into… yours if you go. I took a peek when I was dropping off, there were some nice pieces. But then I am not looking! But you might be!
P.S. of P.P.P.P.S. Jean is also a customer of Scoop and was really understanding when I waffled and hesitated about getting rid of those dance posters that had sooo many memories.
